Every year, this day feels a little different. February 28th.

7 years ago we lost our co founder & executive chef Sanjeev Sethi. But to many people he was much more than that.

If you knew him , you knew he had an infectious energy. A true love for life and everything that comes with it. He didn't know anything other than giving himself completely to every single thing. Whether it was a restaurant , a wedding or even just a simple conversation - he was always , all in.

He truly loved his family and made it his mission to leave the struggles of his homeland to eventually build a life that would fulfill all his dreams and the dreams of generations to come.

Even as the cancer spread and regardless of how much the chemotherapy drained him - he still worked in his kitchen until the last day. Because that's just who he was and I don't think he would have it any other way.

If you have a story , a memory - share it , tell us about it - one of his greatest legacies is that to this day we hear new stories about him. About how he spoke , about how he cared and about how great of a man he actually was and it truly means everything to our family.

On this day & everyday we miss him , we remember him and we thank him.

Navratri begins today for those who practice and this is a time that includes practices , and most importantly - special meals !

During this time there is a focus on ingredients that symbolize the seasonal transition and also have been said to have detox elements.

Ingredients in our culture that are "Satvik"
take centred stage. This includes specific flours like buckwheat , water chestnut and amaranth flour that replace what is normally wheat or flour. Table salt is replaced by rock salt. And onion and garlic are avoided.

Event if you don't partake in the festival itself you can certainly still try these unique dishes that come by once a year and are much more traditional than what you're used to seeing in most indian menus.

When Karon asked me one day "hey have things changed after COVID in regard to takeout" and all I could say was - well you have no idea how much things have changed.

Our locations during the lockdowns relied on takeout and a few years after that - it's back to a huge portion of our business being predominately take out.

When we first began - we quickly became known for our Lunch Buffet.
